在鹿茸的生产过程中，因为锯茸时止血失败而导致生茸公鹿死亡的事故时有发生。我场根据多年来的生产实践，总结了锯茸止血三法。这套方法在多年生产过程中，从未失败。

1、结扎止血

结扎止血即在鹿只保定确实后，开始锯茸前，用消毒液浸泡过的绳索在鹿茸的角基部缠绕一周后进行结扎。以阻断茸皮下毛细动脉管内血液的流动，达到止血的目的。本场多年来一直采用麻绳作结扎绳索。即用4根稻草（每2根为1股缠绕几周），简单拧成草绳。

压迫止血此法与药物止血几乎同时进行，当止血消炎粉敷到伤口上后，马上用2～3张10平方厘米洁净纸张盖在药粉上，并用双手掌压住伤口处，直到无血液流出为止。一般压迫1～3分钟即可达到完全止血目的。 如果按上述方法操作后伤口仍有大量出血，可重新拧紧结扎绳并重复使用止血药物和压迫止血，直至出血止住为止。
